Sisters Second Donation

I'm very proud of my little ladies. They both just made their second hair donation to Pantene Beautiful Lengths who help turn hair donations in to free real-hair wigs for women fighting cancer! But they certainly aren't the only ones collecting hair for wigs. A quick google search will show options that are open to you based on your location! If you are thinking of cutting your hair, considering donating it! All you need is at least 6- 9 inches depending on where you're donating! And if you are in Toronto, I offer free sessions to those who donate!!

Here's Audrey and Adelaide before they got their hair cut at The Loft on Queen Street where they were treated like Queens. Scroll down to see the results!

Audrey and Adelaide donated a total of 6 ponytails. But remember, that is not enough for a wig because it takes an average of 20 ponytails to make one wig, which is the equivalent to about 5 donations!

Watch what happens when you donate your hair.

It's hard to let go of long hair when you have grown it for so long. Especially if it your child's first haircut. But donating hair gives those emotional haircuts more meaning and more purpose making it easier to cut. Donating hair is so rewarding knowing that your hair is going to help someone! And knowing that you get a free photo session with me makes it even more fun!

Siblings, 8 Days New

In-home newborn sessions are some of my favourite sessions. They are some of my most popular sessions too. I think it's because as soon as your newborn is here you realize that it's easier when people come to you because getting out of the house suddenly takes foooorever!! Not to mention how stressful driving anywhere with a baby in a carseat can be. Oh I remember that dreaded stop light!! I remember pumping the brake or rocking my whole body back and forth causing the car to shake a bit! Anything to keep that baby from crying which often resulted in making my milk leak everywhere. This is not how a newborn sessions should start. And that is exactly why I love coming to the home. No need to bundle up and get in the car. I bring everything to you! We take our time, follow baby's lead, and have plenty of changes of clothes if we need. If siblings are involved, they get to just be in their home with their toys being themselves without the pressure of sitting quietly and not touching everything around the studio. And no joke, sometimes mom and dad will go lay down and take a nap while my camera and I make magic with their sweet little squishy newborn. And I don't mind. Even if that means I hang around for a little extra time to cuddle baby while they rest. I get it, you take advantage of every possible moment to sleep! Of course, my number one question about in home newborn sessions is, but what about the mess? Well, first, mess is life. In fact, mess is a sign of a very lived life! And it's impossible to stay tidy with a newborn. But regardless, I avoid photographing the mess. I work in small spaces. Pockets of light. You will have no idea that your home can look so good so messy! Here is a fine example of the small spaces I work in. Image A is a pullback of the scene that created image B.

And if you scroll down, you can see the pictures from when I spent the morning with this beautiful family in their home when their new little baby was only 8 days old. You can see right away that the other added bonus of an in-home session is the personal touch! The backdrop is very you and is very unique to anyone else's images!
