It’s chiiiiillyyyyy here in the GTA!! And I know chilly! I was raised on the Canadian Prairies and this week we’re definitely getting those icy temps that make me feel like I’m back in Winnipeg! Yep, winter has arrived and I completely understand why this season is not everyone’s cup of tea. The frigid temperatures can be uncomfortable, unless you are all bundled up. But lets be honest, most people aren’t looking to have a family session in their snowsuits (…although, I would be absolutely game for the adventurous session a snowsuited family would be)! However! If you can embrace the cold then sessions in the snow are absolutely beautiful! Like twinkly bright and magical!

Check out this incredibly hot session on a cold wintery day! These two were such troopers and I was absolutely game for all of it! Now, I will only show you the PG rated images…okay, maaaaybe a couple meet the PG-13 category, but nonetheless, this session made my heart sing! I love the energy in the home when a new baby arrives. Everyone is fully present and in awe of their tiny addition. There’s this feeling of stillness and reflection. As though nostalgia and present time have come together. It’s pretty magical.

Meet Leland. I documented his sister Juniper’s birth a few years ago, but due to covid restriction I was unable to attend his. So after they got home from the hospital I headed over there when he was 8 days new for a Meet the Baby session! His tiny toes and his incredible eye contact made me melt.

I absolutely adore this family. I have been lucky enough to photograph them many times. Juniper played the role of big sister really well. Comforting Leland, reading to him, kissing him. The way he looks at her and sleeps soundly in her arms. So cute! And the sweet connection between Juniper and her pup was a beautiful thing to see. All in all, hanging out with them and documenting their afternoon as they began their new chapter was such an honour.
