Addison's Cake Smash!

Everyone will warn you that it will go by so fast. They will comfort you on the hard days by reminding you of how soon it will be over and how you'll be begging for those baby days again. It's hard to believe, but then you blink and your baby is one.
I can't even believe that one year ago we were celebrating her arrival with a birth story and a newborn session and now here she is 365 days later embracing baby life while dipping her feet feet in to toddlerhood! That little squishy baby that could easily lay in one of your arms becomes hard to hold with two hands let alone one because one year olds are here there and everywhere.
The next year will likely go faster and the milestones just as epic as you say goodbye to the baby days and hello to the days of strong willed independence. But my goooodness aren't they just the cutest little cheeky monkeys at this stage!?

We ended the session by sending a balloon up to Addi's twin sister. It was really really lovely.

A couple days after this, I documented Addi's first birthday party!

The Pine Cove Series

We just got home from spending a few days at a cabin overlooking the French River with some wonderful friends. Our pals got married, and they did it surrounded by the most beautiful scenery. I just love the Canadian Shield! It's one of my most favourite places on earth! It was just what we needed after the busiest and craziest month of our lives. May was full of many photo sessions and a lot of births, along with conferences and so much illness, and sadly we lost Julian's Grandma. It was a really hard month. So being in a place like Pine Cove was so good for the soul, even if I went from back to back births before hitting the road! (It was epic! ๐Ÿ˜‚) There was no internet or cell reception, so we were shut off from the world. Pure bliss.
Oh, and guess how many times they sang the Moana song in the canoe?! ๐Ÿ˜†

Exploring the Canadian Shield while I sneakily photograph her in pockets of light.

She's been looking at this dress for 3 months and has been so eager to wear it! So here she is! The moment she's been waiting for!! The wedding is about to start! ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ’•

Samers! Hahaha! I have so many pictures of them where they're unintentionally and obliviously mimicking each other. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Playing in the big leagues. And she scores!!!

During wedding speeches, children are incapable of sitting quietly. Instead we left the room so they could do the absolute opposite of what we were begging them to do. Typical. ๐Ÿ˜‚ But boy did Adelaide have fun catching up with her pal Fiona!

Sitting on the dock watching the minnows during the incredible sunset over the French River ๐Ÿ˜
...So worth the black fly bites.

Watching a sunset like this every night would be the worst hey?! ๐Ÿ˜† Seriously, someone take me back. Pleeeaaase!!! ๐Ÿ˜

After the sunset we went running back to the lodge to spark some sparklers and make s'mores!! Oh night light, how I love to play with you!! ๐Ÿ˜

Sparklers are pretty magical, especially with a flare!! Ya know, I think it's the uv filter because since putting it on I've noticed more flares in general, but especially in my birth photos using artificial light sources! Bring on the flares!!! โœจ

Roasting marshmallows and makin' s'mores! They're pretty much in heaven!

"Hey Audrey, only one more s'more okay?" ๐Ÿ˜‚
And just like Audrey wants more s'mores, I want more cabin time!! But all good things must come to an end kid.
