This year I was so pumped that my kids wanted to go as Hogwarts students!! (We are about to start book 3 and they are obsessed.) It made me unbelievably excited for Halloween night! This was my 6th year documenting their Halloween adventure. It's my favourite day of the year to photograph. It's really magical! There's so much life and energy! Especially in my neighbourhood! It's so festive!! Mostly everyone gets involved and creates the most epic trick or treating adventure! The kids love it so much. And I really love playing with all the night light!! I love that I have to shoot on manual focus and I really love how unpredictable it all is. There's motion in the images and so many vibrant colours. The contrast is so extreme too making the images so dramatic!

Happy Halloween everyone!! What a night!! So many children in the streets! It was just so lovely! I love my community so much. Younger kids, older kids, adults!! Everyone was dressed up and there were some real spooky houses out there. Audrey was a little shaken after the first haunted house even though she would insist she was a brave cat, she walked cautiously from that moment on. But Adelaide, she went for it! The first haunted house she was a little freaked and hesitated but when we got to the scariest house she even stood and let me take a picture in front of the clown house.
At every house that called Adelaide a unicorn, she kindly corrected them with "actually I'm a pegasus." But when they got it right, she was so proud of them, ha! And Audrey was extremely thankful for every single treat she got. "LOOK! LOOK what she gave me! Oh thank you thank you!!" she would squeal with delight. She stole a lot of hearts tonight. Here, I'll let the pictures tell the stories...
